Cards for life for Innerpact

Thank you for being here to read my first Innerpact blog. This will be a new adventure for me. A journey in which I will connect to new spaces and share ideas, initiatives and services to empower people, organisations and funds to cross the line for nature. My journey to find out what it takes to become a nature proxy (with the Dandelion Fellowship created by Earth Law Center) gave me the confidence to take this step.

While working on the ideas for Innerpact I used the Cards for Life for inspiration. Cards for life is a beautiful set of 69 cards created by Tom Mansfield. The idea for the cards came to life during his fellowship at the Bio Leadership Project. The cards offer a broad range of nature qualities. Qualities around learning life dynamics, being with complexity and regenerative action.

The cards that became leading during the creation process of Innerpact were interdependence, sense & respond, wealth for life, decentralize and rewilding. These cards tell the story of Innerpact.

Interdependence is all about; I am because you are. Connecting local places and small steps to the greater whole. Finding and spreading hope through the commitment to help preserve and regenerate our planet and all life on it.

Sense & Respond is about sensing the system first and crafting a response that is in contact with the emerging reality. Taking information from all senses, believing in the power of shared energy, and adding perspectives from all stakeholders including nature and future generations. A skill that needs to find broader use.

Wealth for life puts other forms of wealth before money. “The currency of nature is not money, it is life.”  How do we make the economy serve life instead of extracting life. Connecting people and businesses to nature and a greater purpose is an important first step.

Decentralise is what nature does. Decentralise is key to resilient systems. Bringing lasting change asks for decision-making that takes bottom-up information seriously through distributing power and enhancing collective intelligence. Connect to the idea that small is beautiful.

Rewilding brings our inner compass into the light. “Our lineage is wild, including and integrating it enhances civilization.” We are nature.  We all could be wilder, it enhances creativity. Founding the Undercover Activist and training young professionals in workplace activism helped me see how innovation and creation is stifled between four walls. Let’s create the courage to be wild and ignore other peoples fear.

Cross the line for nature means for me, to put nature and its capacity of interdependence, sense & response, wealth for life,  decentralisation and rewilding at the core of the things I like to do; coaching, facilitating, constellation work and value-creation. See you across at line.
